Baby Shower in Jax

On October 18 I had a baby shower in Jacksonville. It was hosted by my friend Kim and stepmom Debbe. It was great to see all my friends and say good bye. One of the games we played involved tasting or smelling different types of baby foods and trying to guess what they were. It was hysterical as some poeple were ready to throw up.
I'd like to send a special thank you to all those who came. Especially my Abess Park Crew. You always know how to keep me laughing and smiling. This was my last weekend in Jacksonville for awhile and I'm so glad I got to share it with my closest friends. Debbe and Kim truly made it special for me. I love you guys!

Baby's Furniture

Last Saturday we picked up the furniture, it took a neighbors truck and the explorer to get it home. We set PapaBear in the crib to keep it warm until Peanut comes along.
For those of you who don't know about PapaBear, he is a bear in memory of my dad. My best friend Kim had him made and I got it at the shower in Jax. The clothes that he is wearing are my dad's clothes cut down to fit him. On his right paw it says My Guardian Angel and the left paw says In Loving Memory of my Grandpa.

4d Ultrasound

On Monday we had our 4d ultrasound. It was very exciting. Ryan doesn't get an opportunity to go to doctor appointments with me now so it was sweet that it was just the two of us sharing this moment.

He was sleeping throughout most of it so we had to keep waking him up. Toward the end he started to get frustrated with us so we got to see some crazy faces. It appears he has Ryan's lips, which I was hoping for.

3 lbs. 4 oz.

Some of you may heard that I took a slip down the stairs yesterday. I was hanging on to the rail, thank heaven, which helped break my fall. Afterwards I laid down for an hour to make sure peanut was still moving and he was.

I called the doctor this morning to make sure everything was ok and of course I had to go in. First I had an ultrasound and everything checked out great. We even got to see him with the hiccups, which was really cute! Then after waiting an hour I got to see the doctor and they hooked me up to a monitor. (By this time it was lunch and I was starving!) He wanted to make sure I wasn't having contractions. There were some irregularities but he thinks it's because I was hungry.

After my three hour visit I finally got to eat. Looks like all the pain was on mommy and not baby but isn't that how it's supposed to be. We found out he weighs 3 lbs 4 oz which I can totally believe. I feel like I'm always out of breath when all I did was walk across the room and it's only going to get worse... I LOVE being pregnant.

28 Weeks

Today I am 28 weeks. It's so hard to believe I only have 12 weeks left. I can remember when I was 12 weeks along and throwing up or as Ryan would say praying to the porcelain God. My doctor's appointment went well yesterday. The glucose stuff was nasty and now I'm just waiting for the results. I have to start monitoring fetal movement each night after dinner to make sure he's moving like he should. We also heard from the furniture store today and it will be 3 more weeks before we get the furniture. I hope I can wait that long.....

Life in Atlanta is going well. It does get lonely sometimes. Ryan is working long hours. He leaves the house at 6 each morning to catch the express bus and doesn't get home until 6 or later. He is enjoying it though. His desk overlooks a park on the 12th floor. His mom and I are having fun scrapbooking and trying to get the nursery ready.

Elmo loves the outside. We couldn't get him to go outside in Jacksonville because he hated the grass but he loves the grass here. He often goes outside with Ryan's dad for most of the day just chilling.

Painting the baby's room

We started the baby's room this week. Ryan's mom and I painted two walls on Wednesday (she did most of it) and Ryan finished the rest on Saturday. I got to mostly supervise and do the trim work since I couldn't be around the fumes.
We also hung the window treatments. It's the Eli Elephant pattern from Pottery Barn. Now we are just waiting for the furniture. We ordered it 7 weeks ago and they said it should take 8-10 weeks. They're supposed to call tomorrow with an update.
I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow and have to do the glucose test. I'm not looking forward to it. Little peanut is kicking away like crazy. Actually it feels more like somer saults. He definitely loves to do it the most during the night. He already has his morning and nights mixed up.
